The Garner Veterans Memorial Recreational Center, the city’s recreational center is now open 24 hours a day. Garner Mayor Tim Schmidt is pleased with how all of this has come about.
Members have been pushing the Garner Parks and Recreation Department to make happen because of the various work schedules have. Schmidt has firmly believed that a center of this size should have this kind of availability.
Schmidt feels that with the additional hours at the center, it will give people another reason to want to move to or live in Garner.
Memberships to the center can be obtained by going to the rec center during business hours or by calling the Garner Parks and Recreation Department.
