Winnebago Supervisors to Discuss Rural Recycling

The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday at 9am to first hear of any drainage matters that may be present. Drainage Clerk Kris Oswald will review with the board current projects and those in the future.

The board will also review the recently expired recycling contract. Waste Management was the company that the county was using to collect and haul away any recyclables in rural locations and homes. The county must consider multiple options such as whether to follow what Hancock County does in having rural recycling stations or continue the practice of having Waste Management go door to door in picking up recyclables.

Rembrandt Foods is looking to expand their site for Iowa Cage Free-Ovations Farm site. The board must examine the plans to do so and set a public hearing to allow for the public to voice their opinions. The board will set a date and publicize it.

The board will meet in the Supervisors Room of the Winnebago County Courthouse in Forest City. Those that cannot attend can still do so over the phone or online. The call-in number is (641) 591-6903 with the participant code: 149935 (INTERACTIVE) To view and listen only, you can go online at www.winnebagocountyiowa.gov/streaming/ .
