Another Dam Project Developing in Forest City

The Forest City Council heard from developers about a new boat entry into the Winnebago River. The concept involves changing the current dock and replacing the dam in Pammel Park according to City Administrator Daisy Huffman.

Huffman explained that because of the current permitting process with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, it made sense to move forward with the dam and boat entry which is mostly dirt.

The plans also call for additional parking to accommodate the expected additional boat traffic. Huffman feels that the time is right to get the formalities out of the way now in advance of this expected project.

Huffman continues to meet with the project planners to complete the details of the Dam-to-Rapids project.
