Kossuth County Board to Discuss Summit Carbon Agricultural Mitigation Plan

The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday beginning at 9am to review minutes from the Safety and Wellness Committees. Due to the passing of a new state law regulating the use of ATV and UTV vehicles, the board must decide whether to repeal the county ordinance #114A.

The board will address a national opioid settlement and then look at a resolution to approve the Summit Carbon Solutions mitigation plan. This will coincide with an update on Summit Carbon Solutions project in the county. The public is invited to listen to the discussion in the Supervisors Room of the Kossuth County Courthouse in Algona.

The board will discuss a resolution on participating in the Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant application. The measure looks to keep county roads safe from crime and danger with appropriate funding. The board may approve the application for submission.

Supervisors must also consider a measure defining construction inside of Right of Ways in the county. Then they will hear from the Kossuth County Engineer on the current state of secondary roads along with any current or upcoming projects.

Drainage issues will be reviewed including work on Drainage District 7 and PAK 1 Lateral 9. The board will need to reschedule a completion hearing on the cleanout of Drainage District 82.
