Farmers are Seeing Higher Costs

Worth County farmers are finding it more expensive to do business lately. While the problem is not limited to just Worth County, a number of factors are contributing to the issue according to Worth County Extension Specialist Dennis Johnson.
With the spring weather staying cool, there were some concerns about planting.
Weather has become more favorable with more heating degree days and a balance of sun and precipitation. Johnson stated that the focus is now on spraying the crops in order to protect them.
Experts agree that these costs will eventually be passed on to the consumer later this fall and winter.
