Spring Planting May Begin Soon

Now that the calendar has flipped to the month of April, area farmers are beginning to think about spring planting. Forest City Farmers Coop Manager Randy Brewsder talked to KIOW News about how 2020 is looking compared to previous years.

Brewsder says the Coop has had to make adjustments due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Brewsder talked about fertilizer and seed needs on a local level.

Brewsder noted one area of good news is the current price of fuel.

Brewsder says the need in other areas is not so good.

Brewsder says area corn and soybean prices have taken a hit since the onset of COVID-19.

Brewsder says there are ways that area farmers can help the coop this spring.
