The United States Senate elected Senator Charles Grassley as the President Pro Tempore, a constitutionally established position in the Senate where the Senate elected officer presides when the Vice President of the United States is not available. Grassley considered it a great honor and recently delivered an address to the Senate on his commitment to the post.
