The Iowa State men’s basketball team opens Big 12 Conference play on Dec. 29 when it hosts Kansas State in the earliest start to league play in school history.
For the sixth consecutive season, the league schedule will feature a double round-robin format that concludes the first weekend of March and is followed by the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship in Kansas City, March 7-10.
Iowa State plays its first two games at home and 17 of the 18 conference games will be shown on the ESPN family of networks.
ISU also announced a number of non-conference start times and television networks. They will also be heard on KIOW.
The Iowa State women’s basketball announced its 2017-18 Big 12 conference schedule on Thursday. The Cyclones will open the 18-game conference slate with a home game against Kansas, on Thursday, Dec. 28.
Following the Big 12 opener, the Cyclones will remain in Hilton Coliseum and host Oklahoma on Sun., Dec. 31 before hitting the road for a pair of games against Baylor and West Virginia.
Iowa State will begin postseason action at the 2018 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will be held March 2-5 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Big 12 Championship will remain in Oklahoma City through the 2019 campaign.
The release of the Big 12 slate, completes Iowa State’s 29-game schedule, which features 12 games against teams that made the 2017 NCAA women’s basketball tournament.
Dates are still subject to change and a complete schedule featuring tip-off times and television will be announced at a later date.
