Bellevue (Neb.) is the coaches’ pick to win the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Women’s Golf conference title, the 2017 coaches’ preseason poll was announced by the conference office Tuesday. The Bruins tallied five first-place votes with 34 points to clinch first place in the preseason coaches’ poll. Viterbo (Wis.) picked up the final first-place vote and recorded 31 points to finish seconds. Waldorf (Iowa) was third with 23 points, followed by Jamestown (N.D.) fourth with 20 points, Valley City State (N.D.) fifth with 10 points and Dickinson State (N.D.) sixth with 8 points. Bellevue had won two consecutive North Star Women’s Golf conference titles. The Bruins finished 25th in the NAIA Women’s Golf National Tournament this past spring.
There are four rounds in the North Star Athletic Association Women’s Golf Conference Tournament, with the first two rounds being held in the fall on Sept. 24-25 in Medora, N.D., hosted by Dickinson State at Bully Pulpit Golf Course. The final two rounds take place in the spring on April 23-24, 2018 in Albert Lea, Minn., hosted by Waldorf. The winner of the NSAA Women’s Golf Conference Tournament (after all four rounds are completed) will received an automatic team bid to the national tournament.
The NAIA Women’s Golf National Tournament is slated to take place in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. from May 22-25, 2017.
