2017 NSAA Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll Released

– Bellevue (Neb.) is the unanimous coaches’ pick to win the 2017 North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Men’s Soccer conference title, the preseason poll was announced Tuesday by the conference office. The preseason poll was voted by the league’s head coaches. The Bruins collected all five first-place votes with 25 points to secure the top spot in the preseason poll. Waldorf (Iowa) finished second with 19 points, followed by Jamestown (N.D.) third with 14 points. Viterbo (Wis.) tallied 10 points to finish fourth in the poll, while Presentation (S.D.) was fifth with 6 points. Bellevue had won the last two North Star league titles. They completed the NSAA regular season schedule with a 4-0 record and defeated Waldorf 2-1 in the championship match last season. The North Star men’s soccer members will be affiliated with the Association of Independent (A.I.I.) members when the conference postseason play begins in November. There will be two automatic bids from the North Star/A.I.I. Unaffiliated Grouping. The 2017 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship will be held on Nov. 27 through Dec. 2 at the Seacrest Soccer Complex in Delray Beach, Fla. The opening round matches will be played on campus sites on Saturday, Nov. 18. The 2017 NSAA Men’s Soccer season schedule will consist of 4 conference matches.
