2017 NSAA Women’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll Released

Viterbo (Wis.) was tabbed as the coaches’ pick to win the 2017 North Star Athletic Association Women’s Soccer conference title, the preseason poll was announced by the conference office Tuesday. The preseason poll was voted by the league’s head coaches. The V-Hawks picked up three first-place votes and finished first with 22 points in the poll. Bellevue (Neb.) earned the final two first-place votes with 20 points to finish second. Jamestown (N.D.) was predicted to finish third after recording 16 points in the preseason poll. Presentation (S.D.) placed fourth with 10 points, followed by Waldorf (Iowa) fifth with 7 points. The Bruins won the 2016 North Star conference regular-season title with a 3-1 record and captured the postseason conference tournament after defeating the Jimmies in the championship match. The North Star women’s soccer members will be affiliated with the Association of Independent (A.I.I.) members when the conference postseason play begins in November. There will be two automatic bids from the North Star/A.I.I. Unaffiliated Grouping. The 2017 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship will be held on Nov. 27 through Dec. 2 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala. The Opening Round matches will be played at campus sites on Saturday, Nov. 18. The 2017 NSAA Women’s Soccer season conference schedule will consist of 4 conference games.
