Britt City Council Makes Changes

When Dwight Leerar resigned unexpectantly in early February, the council was faced with having to find a replacement in a number of positions within the city. The first was obviously the council seat, but there were other positions too. There was the Mayor Pro Tem position and the representative seat on the Fire Safety Committee.

The council opted to appoint Chad Luecht to the vacant council seat. This will be the second time he has served on the council. The first time was from 2014-16. The council liked his experience for the position and he will step in to not only that role, but also that of the representative on the Fire Safety Committee.

The council then appointed Councilman Curt Gast to Mayor Pro Tem.

Luecht will finish the Leerar’s term and then he can decide if he wants to run for the seat again.
