Forest City Girls win Top of Iowa West Title, North Iowa girls fall to Northwood-Kensett in Regional tournament

The Forest City Girls basketball team captured the Top of Iowa Conference West Division title with a 52-51 win over North Union Thursday night in Forest City.  Hannah Anderson led the way with 17 points. Forest City finished the regular season at 15-6 overall, 14-2 in the TIC.  Other Thursday Girls basketball scores:

Humboldt 57, Belmond-Klemme 43

AGWSR 55, North Butler 30

The North Iowa Lady Bison fell to Northwood-Kensett in 1A Regional tournament play in heart breaking fashion Thursday night 44-43. Rachel Hassebroek had 12 points for the Bison. North Iowa ends their season at 3-19. Northwood-Kensett travels to Britt on Tuesday to take on West Hancock.

Newman Catholic 70, Riceville 43

The Forest City Boys basketball team defeated North Union 66-39 Thursday night. Sam Snyder had 15 points, while Chris Jermeland added 11. The Indians end the regular season at 17-4, and plays in the 3A district tournament on Monday, February 20th.  Other Boys basketball scores from Thursday:
