Forest City sweeps Lake Mills in TIC basketball, weekend wrestling and basketball results

The Forest City Boys basketball team defeated Lake Mills 53-39 on Friday night in Top of Iowa Conference play. Chris Jermeland led the Indians with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Theel added 11 points and 5 rebounds, while Avery Busta had 9 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Other Friday Boys basketball scores:

The Forest City girls basketball team defeated Lake Mills 65-50 Friday night. Hannah Anderson led the Indians with 23 points and 5 assists. Brea Dillavou added 16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Kelsey Koch also had 10 for the Indians. Lake Mills was led by Laura Knudtson’s 16 points.  Other Friday Girls basketball scores:

Clear Lake won the Forest City Invitational wrestling tournament Saturday with 3 champions and 182.5 points. Forest City finished with 95 points, and 3 finalists in Will Kirschbaum at 113, Alec Fett at 120, and Maverick Freerksen at 152. North Butler was 2nd with 168 points, Algona had 158, Charles City 150.5, Saint Ansgar 136, Emmetsburg 130.5, and West Fork 55.5.

Lake Mills won the Hampton-Dumont duals with a 4-0 record, and Slade Sifuentes took possession of the school record for wins in a career, going 4-0 to get to 154, breaking the record set by Noah Irons in 2015.  The Bulldogs defeated East Buchanan 58-17, Northwood-Kensett 83-0, Hampton-Dumont 72-6, and Belmond-Klemme 65-10.  9 Bulldogs were undefeated for the day.

The West Hancock wrestling team went 5-0 at the St. Edmond duals, taking the team title. West Hancock defeated Southeast Valley 39-36, St. Edmond 65-10, Roland-Story 60-18, Clarke 60-12, and AGWSR 69-0. 6 Eagles were undefeated for the day.

Garner-Hayfield-Ventura was 4th at the GTRA Invite in Graettinger. Conner Shaw won the 170 pound title. Jace Pringnitz was 2nd at 138 and Brady Hess was 2nd at 145.  Austin Case at 113 got his 100th victory finishing 3rd.

 

The Forest City Boys basketball team escaped Clear Lake with a 2 point victory 59-57 on Saturday afternoon. Sam Snyder had 20 points and 7 rebounds, Grady Hovenga added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Forest City was just 17 of 31 from the free throw line. Clear Lake was led by Zach Lester’s 20, while Drew Enke added 17. Other Saturday Boys basketball scores:

The Clear Lake Girls basketball team defeated Forest City 55-32 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon. Noelle Jones had 12 for Forest City, who are now 7-3 overall. The Indians host Eagle Grove on Tuesday night. Other Saturday Girls basketball scores:
