Rayhons Declines Re-Election Bid

He has served the Iowa House District 8 voters for 18 years and now 78 year old Henry Rayhons has decided to withdraw his candidacy for another term. Rayhons said that he will  finish his term and then retire from the House and politics.

Rayhons cited health and family matters as the principle reason for his decision. His wife is currently in the Concord Care Center in Garner. Donna Lou Rayhons has been the center of the need to appoint a conservator and guardian. The court approved Suzan Brunes, a Klemme resident and daughter of family as a temporary guardian, but a final decision will be made towards the later part of the month.

District 8 encompasses all of Wright and Hancock counties and the southern half of Kossuth counties in Iowa.
