Puckerbrush Parade Kicks Off Late Morning Activites

Forest City will be vibrant begin at 10am with the annual Puckerbrush Parade. It will wind its way through Forest City with one of the largest number of entrants in its history. KIOW and our sister station KHAM will both have entries as the virtually the entire staff will be in the parade. Like last year, News Director A. J. Taylor will bring along the KIOW News Hounds, Otto, Opal, and Ole who will poke their heads out of the white KHAM News Cruiser. The three dachshunds have been a fan favorite at several parades this year and the Puckerbrush parade last year.

At 11am and going until 4pm, the bounce houses will open up. They will be located on the courthouse lawn. Rotary BBQ chicken will also be served there beginning at 11am and until it is gone. The photo booth will also open and the Kids Power Pedal Pull will take place on Clark Street.

Sheltered Reality is scheduled to be on stage on the Court House lawn beginning at 11:30am and will be in concert until 1:30pm.

At noon, pie and ice cream wiil be served at the Methodist Church. A game of laser tag will break out on North Clark street while a bean bag tournament will begin on the Waldorf College Lawn.

The firefighters will have a Water Ball Competition beginning at 1pm and going until 3pm. There will also be fire truck rides going on at the same time.

The Hansen Family will also perform on the Courthouse Lawn beginning at 1:30pm until 2:15pm.

The after noon activities wrap up with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department holding a K-9 demonstration on the Sheriff’s Department Lawn.
