YMCA Speaker Series—50+ Program will be held at the YMCA

April 9 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

  On Wednesday, April 9th A YMCA Speaker Series—50+ Program will be held at the YMCA on West I Street, Forest City, IA, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. This is a 50+ Program event. Open to all members of the community at NO Cost. April Topic: Radon in Winnebago County-Ron Kvale, Winnebago County Health, will talk about radon. Radon kits will be available for sale for $6. A light breakfast will be served.

Join Waldorf College for a FREE children’s story time the second Tuesday of each month (during the academic year)! Each session will also include a craft! Private Pesticide Applicator Training to be April 8th

Private Pesticide Applicator Training to be April 8th   The Winnebago County Extension will hold a Private Pesticide Applicator’s Recertification Program at the Titonka Savings Bank in Forest City on April 8th at 7:00 pm.  This training is for all private pesticide applicators needing 2 hours of continuing education training to maintain their certification.   Paul Kassel, Extension Crops Field Specialist, will conduct the pesticide training. Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manly, IA will hold their Annual Omelet Breakfast and Bake Sale  on Sunday, April 6th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Adults will cost $7 and children ages 5 to 10 will cost $4 and  no charge for Pre-school Children.

The Crystal Lake Bar and Grill will hold a fundraiser for Shari Hagen and her Son Levi, on Sunday, April 6th beginning at 1 p.m. Enjoy live music from: The Players! Jared Wingert of Mojo Productions will also be djing during breaks! There will also be a Silent Auction. Proceeds go to  help get Shari to Chicago for the Autism One Conference in May.

Emmons Son’s of the American Legion

Annual Chili and Soup Supper will be Saturday April 5th  from 4:00-7:00pm at the Legion Post in Emmons.  Free will donation proceeds will go to help Cole Christianson of Lake Mills who was diagnosed with cancer last year.  COOKS-bring a crock pot of YOUR best chili, $5.00 entry fee – Tropy for first place.
