Just in time for Halloween, the Winnebago County Conservation Board will be presenting a program on Creatures of the Night! The program will be held at the Thorpe Park shelterhouse on Thursday evening, October 30th, beginning at 6:30 PM. Families are invited to bring the kids to learn about some of the fascinating critters that inhabit the night, such as bats, owls, coyotes, and raccoons! (Of course, adults without kids are also welcome to come enjoy the festivities and learn about Iowa’s nocturnal wildlife!)
The program will last about 45 minutes and will include such things as furs, skulls, a bat skeleton, and mounted owls. Kids are welcome to come dressed in their Halloween costumes, and there will be Halloween candy and other refreshments available, as well as fun handouts for the kids to take home with them. The program will be free and no preregistration is required. For more information about Creatures of the Night, people can contact Winnebago County Naturalist Lisa Ralls at 641-565-3390 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
