Local Athletes named to INA all-state boys basketball teams

Several area athletes were named to the Iowa Newspaper Association’s All-State Boys basketball teams.   Leading the way was Forest City Junior Erich Erdman, named to the 2A 1st team.  Erdman averaged 26.7 points per game on 55.8% shooting, finishing 2nd in the state in all classes in scoring average.  He also averaged 6.4 rebounds,

The Belmond-Klemme Broncos defeated the Lake Mills Bulldogs for the Class 1A District 3 title Thursday night 79-64. Tonight, the Belmond-Klemme Broncos and Lake Mills Bulldogs will play for the Class 1A District 3 title in Garner. The teams split games in the regular season, with the Bulldogs erasing a 17 point deficit to defeat Belmond-Klemme 66-63 on January 17th, while the Broncos blew out the Bulldogs 67-44 on February 10th. Forest City High School announces their next football coach

Forest City High School has announced that Carroll Kuemper assistant football coach PJ Hedrington has signed a contract to coach the school’s football program and teach high school PE.  Hedrington coached at Kuemper for 2 seasons, winning a state title last year.
