Firework Detonation is Illegal in County and State Parks

The Winnebago County Conservation Board has voted to continue a policy of no fireworks in county parks in Winnebago County. Iowa State Code prohibits the use of fireworks in Iowa State Parks and the board is applying the regulations on a county level. Winnebago County Conservation Board Director Robert Schwartz explains.

Both Schwartz and the board believe residents and visitors will not be setting of fireworks on Conservation grounds, particularly campgrounds or the parks.

Schwartz encourages anyone with questions on this or any other policies on Winnebago County Conservation campgrounds or lands, to call the Conservation Office at (641) 565-3390.
