Indians sweep the Cardinals in TIC West action, area scores

The Forest City Baseball team shut out Garner-Hayfield-Ventura 3-0 in Top of Iowa West division action Wednesday night. In a game heard on KIOW, Colton Shipman struck out 10 Cardinals, and allowed just 5 hits. Ryan Saarie was the big bat at the plate, with 2 out singles in the 2nd and 4th innings to bring in all 3 Indian runs. Forest City is now 13-3, 9-1 in the conference, while Garner-Hayfield-Ventura is now 10-6, 8-2.  Other Monday baseball scores:

The Forest City Softball team defeated Garner-Hayfield-Ventura 12-1 Wednesday night. Anna Anderson homered, singled, and drove in 3 runs. Morgan Hobbs had 2 doubles and 3 RBI, Emily Banken had 3 hits and scored 3 times, while Callie McQuown allowed just 3 hits, striking out 2. Forest City is now 7-8 overall, 6-5 in the West.
