Forest City splits with Bishop Garrigan, area scores

The Forest City baseball team picked up a 10-0 win in 5 innings over Bishop Garrigan Wednesday night, scoring 8 times in the 5th. The Indians travel to Saint Ansgar tonight. Other baseball scores:

The Forest City softball team fell to Bishop Garrigan 5-0 Wednesday night. Cora Holland and Callie McQuown each had a double for the Indians. McQuown allowed just 5 hits, striking out 3. Forest City is now 5-5, and plays host to Algona tonight. Game time is 6 pm, and the game will be on KIOW around 8 pm tonight. Other Wednesday softball scores:

The Clear Lake duo of Emily Snelling and Thomas Storbeck picked up the 2017 Class 1A State Co-ed golf title Wednesday in Marshalltown, carding an even par 72 in the alternate shot format.   Finishing second was GHV’s pair of Bailee Frayne and Matthew Heinemann with a 74. GHV pairing of Carlee Frayne and Grady Umbarger were 16th with an 81.
