Hospice Golf Outting Hosts a 25 Year Local Tradition

In an effort to support children impacted by the loss of a loved one, Hospice of North Iowa will host the 25th Annual Hospice of North Iowa Golf Outing at Bear Creek Golf Course in Forest City, IA.

The Golf Outing is scheduled for Saturday, June 3rd. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the tournament begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Breakfast and lunch is included in the $50/player registration fee.

Camp Greentree was founded in 1989. Activities and exercises are selected to promote a better understanding of the grieving process and help youth recognize healthy and appropriate ways to express their feelings to cope with loss.

Youth ages 7 to 14 are welcome at Camp Greentree and have the chance to gain coping skills, as well as the opportunity to meet others who have experienced the death of a family member or friend. Anyone who has felt the effects of the death of a loved one is welcome to take advantage of the services.

According to Connie Bleile, Director of Hospice and Palliative Care for Hospice of North Iowa, Camp Greentree is made possible by generous donations from businesses, organizations and individuals who support Hospice of North Iowa’s mission.

Bleile states, “Camp Greentree is free of charge. The proceeds from this event will go a long way toward making sure all children have the services available when grieving the loss of a loved one.”

All proceeds from the Golf Outing will support Camp Greentree. Raffle tickets will also be sold to win dozens of local prizes.
