Ralph Highlander of Lake Mills, was charged on April 28, 2017, with Manufacture of a Controlled Substance,” a class D felony, in violation of Iowa Code §124.401(1)(d); Sponsoring, Promoting, or Aiding Where a Controlled Substance is Used,” a class D felony, in violation of Iowa Code §124.407; Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance (Marijuana),” a serious misdemeanor, in violation of Iowa Code §124.401(5) and 124.204(4)(m); Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)a serious misdemeanor, in violation of Iowa Code §124.401(5) and 124.206(4)(b); and three counts of “Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug,” a serious misdemeanor, in violation of Iowa Code §155A.21(1).
Charges arose after the Lake Mills Police Department executed a search warrant at Highlander’s residence on April 28, 2017, and discovered a marijuana grow operation.
Bond was set in the amount of $5,000.00 cash or surety or 10% in Highlander’s name. Highlander posted a surety bond on May 3 and was released from custody. Highlander is next scheduled to appear in court for his Preliminary Hearing on May 18, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. in the Magistrate Courtroom of the Winnebago County Courthouse.
