What To Do in a Disaster is Discussed by the Forest City Council

The Forest City Council is currently in the process of re-vamping its’ Hazard Mitigation Plan and is working on a plan of action. Forest City Mayor Byron Ruiter says the city is working with Winnebago and Hancock County Emergency Management Coordinator Andy Buffington to ensure the community has an appropriate plan in place.

Ruiter says the city wide clean up day has been set in Forest City. That day is fast approaching.

The city is currently reading the property maintenance code that is proposed and will probably pass the item in their next meeting. The ordinance has specific protocol in place according to Ruiter.
