Wright County Board to Discuss Land Purchases

The Wright County offices will be closed today in observance of President’s Day and the Wright County Board of Supervisors have moved their meeting date to Tuesday at 9am. when the meeting convenes, the board will look at Resolution 2017-11 dealing with a short term loan to the Agribusiness UR Capital Projects. The money will be taken from the General Basic fund to cover the expenses in the Tax Increment Financing area.

Wright County is examining the number of beds that are used in the North Central Juvenile Detention Center in Eldora. Currently there is a cap on the number of beds that can be used. The board has drafted a letter of support for the elimination of the cap and may approve the letter at the Tuesday meeting.

The board will then go into a closed session pursuant to Iowa Code, to discuss the possible purchase of real estate. The board is allowed to close its doors to the public on these matters so that any premature disclosure won’t affect the purchase price on the property. The council has not declared what property is being discussed.

The meeting will take place in the Wright County Courthouse in Clarion.
