Forgery Case Ends in Sentencing of a Corwith Man

Jacob Dean Ganseveld of Corwith, was sentenced on the charge of “Forgery,” a class D felony, stemming from an investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office on June 22, 2016. Ganseveld was sentenced to serve an indeterminate prison sentence not to exceed 5 years and ordered to pay a $750.00 fine, applicable surcharges, court costs and victim restitution in the amount of $900.00. The prison sentence and fine were suspended. Ganseveld was placed on probation for a period of 5 years to the Department of Correctional Services. As a term of probation, Ganseveld was placed at a residential treatment facility for a period of 180 days or until maximum benefits are achieved. Ganseveld was ordered to obtain a substance abuse and mental health evaluation and follow through with all treatment recommendations.
