The Belmond City Council will meet this evening beginning at 7pm in the Belmond City Hall. The meeting will open with a Citizens Forum. Hugh R. Barry will make a request to be reimbursed for an Animal at Large. Then, Amy McDaniel of the Iowa Specialty Hospital will make a presentation on the current state of the facility.
The City Council will then discuss the Fiscal Year 2017-18 Operating Budget. There is a movement to push back the actual public hearing until March 6th in order to make sure all parts of the budget are complete.
Another public hearing has to do with the increase in water rates. Ordinance 433 will be reviewed during the hearing. If there are no objections, the second and third readings will be waived and the measure will be adopted.
There has been no mention of any new business before the council which means that after the public hearings, approval of bills and the February 6th meeting minutes, the meeting will adjourn.
