The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors will meet this morning beginning at 9am to first discuss the condition of secondary roads in the county. Winnebago County Engineer Scott Meinders will review these issues with the board and discuss upcoming and current projects too.
The Auditor’s Office will review with the board all drainage matters. These include projects in Drainage Districts 71 and 2 Laterals 4 and 5. The board may take action on these issues during the meeting.
Policies and Resolutions will be discussed afterwards. These include and annual passage of a resolution for Elected Official Compensation. This determines how and by how much an elected official will be paid. This will be followed by a discussion on continuing to make the courthouse a Tobacco Free and Nicotene Free Zone. Additional signage may be placed on courthouse grounds indicating the policy.
The board will also look at a Public Purpose Resolution supporting the Shop with a Cop program. The initiative is a public relations program by area police and sheriffs departments with area youth. Together, officers and youth go shopping, particularly during the Christmas holiday season, for gifts and general items. The county has supported the program in the past and is expected to do so again this year.
The board will conclude the meeting by possibly approving a Liquor License for the Rice Lake Golf and Country Club, then reviewing a proposed contract with Waste Management concerning rural recycling in Winnebago County.
