Coaches versus Cancer games were played at select high schools last Friday night. Among them were Garner Hayfield Ventura and West Hancock. Both played to near capacity crowds in the benefits to fight cancer. Now Winnebago County will kick off their Relay for Life drive during the Forest City versus Bishop Garrigan basketball games on Friday, February 3rd. The games will be both boys and girls match ups of very good teams.
The event will feature a baked potato bar supper from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Forest City High School. Winnebago County Relay for Life Chairperson Carolyn Sunde explained about the event.
Even though the official Coaches versus Cancer event was on the 27th, the high school is looking for success in their efforts, much like last year according to Relay for Life Regional Director Steve Lovick.
A large crowd is expected, so fans are asked to try and arrive as early as possible to the 4:30pm Potato Bar opening.
