Forest City Boys upset #4 Osage 62-59, Osage Girls hold off Indians, Lake Mills sweeps wrestling quad

The Forest City Boys basketball team knocked off previously unbeaten Osage 62-59 Thursday night in Top of Iowa crossover action. The Indians overcame an 11 point 3rd quarter deficit, by outscoring the Green Devils 26-12 in the final 10 minutes of the game. Forest City was 15-22 from the free throw line, 11 of 12 in the 4th quarter. Chris Jermeland led the Indians with 16 points, with Grady Hovenga adding 15, Sam Snyder 12, and Ryan Theel 10. Drew Olson had 17, Nathan Bushbaum and Garrett Maakestad adding 12 each for Osage. Forest City is now 12-3, and travels to West Hancock tonight.  Other Thursday Boys basketball scores:

The Forest City Girls basketball team fell to Osage in crossover action 58-48 Thursday night. The Green Devils got 28 points from Gabby Schwarting, including 19 in the second half to hold off the Forest City comeback.  Brea Dillavou and Becca Seglem each had 9 points for the Indians.  Other Thursday Girls basketball scores:

Hampton-Dumont 55, St. Edmond 36

 

The Lake Mills wrestling team went 3-0 at the St. Edmond quadrangular. The Bulldogs shut out the host Gaels 81-0, defeated Newman Catholic 53-14, and Clear Lake 50-21.  Slade Sifuentes, Michael Olson, Gabe Irons, Caiden Jones, Tyler Helgeson, Cael Boehmer, Alex Albert, and Cory Mathahs each was 3-0 for Lake Mills. Other dual meet scores:
