The Lakota Quasquicentennial Committee and the Lakota Public Library have launched the “Happy 125th” Book Contest. The event began on January 3rd and will continue until July 23rd. All library patrons are eligible to participate with the winner receiving a cash award of $125.
The library will be keeping a running total of how many books are checked out during the contest. When the total reaches 125, that patron will be entered into a drawing. Then the count begins again until another 125th book is checked and that individual is entered.
During the Lakota Quasquicentennial Celebrations which are the weekend of July 22nd and 23rd, all of the names entered will be put into a drawing. Lakota’s Quasquicentennial Chairperson Kelsie Baggenstoss will draw the name of the winner on Saturday, July 22nd. Entrants do not need to be present to win and will be notified if they win the $125 cash prize.
