The city of Thompson will be celebrating its 125th birthday on Saturday, June 10th. However, the planning stages are already underway. Organizers are hoping that the current residents and those of past classes who attended the Thompson Community School District will return for the celebration.
A number of fund raisers are taking place along with locating old memorabilia and souvenirs. A committee is in place to plan events for the day which include an all class reunion. Organizers are currently looking for members from each graduating class to contact fellow classmates and get them to attend the celebration. Supper is being planned at the Branding Iron on June 10th along with a number of activities throughout the day. Those who are able to help locate and contact their old classmates are asked to contact Cara Chapman who is one of the organizers at (641) 420-0894.
Some of the events that are planned include a quilt raffle, a street dance, and a beer garden. The band CherryGun will perform at the dance.
