For many area schools, there is a fine balance that is attempted in trying to get quality reading time in for students. Educational research has found a tie between good reading skills and academic success. Students with strong reading skills have the ability to understand individual sentences, structure, and imagery of the subject material. As a result, comprehension becomes stronger because of the ability to understand arguments, follow ideas, and comprehend their context.
