While many businesses and organizations will be closed Monday, September 1st to recognize Labor Day, a celebration of our social and economic achievements, one Hancock County enterprise will be open. The historic Liberty School Museum in Kanawha will be open Labor Day. Kanawha resident Roger Tveiten tells about the museum.
The Liberty School Museum is a furnished one room country school complete with desks, and dedicated as a tribute to the rural school teachers of Iowa.
Next year the Liberty School Museum will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary in Kanawha with a special celebration. Until then, don’t forget to visit the museum this year on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st, from 11am to 2pm. The Museum is located at 422 East 5th Street in Kanawha.
