The Waldorf College hockey team has announced that it will host a two-game set with HC Harbin, a Chinese semi-professional hockey team comprised of players who have competed for the Chinese national team at the U18 or U20 levels and some of whom have represented China at the Senior World Championships.
The HC Harbin roster also features players with professional experience with China Dragon of the Asian Professional Hockey League, as well as some players who could possibly represent the Dragon organization in the future.
The Warriors entertain HC Harbin on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. and on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. Both games take place at the Albert Lea City Ice Arena in Albert Lea, Minn.
“We are honored to host an international series with HC Harbin at our home rink in Albert Lea,” Waldorf coach Brett Shelanski said. “This is a great opportunity for our student-athletes to play against very talented players from the other side of the globe and also for our fans in Forest City and Albert Lea to get a chance to see us compete against players who have had the honor of representing their country in international competition and players with professional experience.”
