Boil Order Issued for Iowa’s Pikes Peak State Park

A boil order has been issued for Pikes Peak State Park in northeast Iowa. The Department of Natural Resources says water is shut off at fire hydrants and modern shower and restroom facilities. Flushing toilets are still available at the outlook, and pit latrines are also available.

The DNR is notifying campers with reservations about the order. RV campers should fill up their water tanks before arriving at the park.

The order will remain in effect until two sets of water samples are determined to be clean. Until then, park visitors should boil water used for drinking or cooking, or use bottled water.
