Warrior Golf Team Turns in 3.21 GPA

Waldorf Golf

The Waldorf College men’s golf team generated success on and off the course and recently earned Scholar-Team recognition from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

“Being named an NAIA Scholar-Team is an outstanding achievement for Waldorf men’s golf,” Waldorf coach Mark Clouse said.

For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the academic institution. The team’s grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes. The Warriors recorded a 3.21 team GPA during the 2013-14 academic year.

“The award is based on the GPA of the entire team, so it demonstrates a commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as on the golf course,” Clouse said. “The players are serious about academics and I am confident that they will continue to succeed as student-athletes at Waldorf College.

Two Waldorf athletic programs received Scholar-Team recognition this past year with the women’s basketball team also garnering Scholar-Team honors.
