What has been billed as the “major league of drum corps” makes its stop in Forest City today as participants arrive for the Festival of Brass competition on Friday. Chris Ward of Waldorf College told KIOW News that groups will be making their way in beginning this morning.:
More than 1,000 musicians and color guard students will be marching in the competition at Forest City High School in Iowa’s largest drum and bugle corps competition. The field will feature some of the best in the competitive field performing a 15 minute show that is evaluated by a panel of judges.
Ward told KIOW News that this is truly an international event complete with Canadian teams too.:
Tickets are on sale now at www.northiowamusicarts.org. They are also on sale at MBT Bank locations in Forest City and the Forest City Chamber of Commerce. Prices range from $10 for adults, $5 for students, and children and six under are free.
