One of problems that faced organizers of the RAGBRAI event in Forest City had to do with the heat. More specifically, vendors who faced foods and drink that would warm quickly in the summer sun unless it were cooled down. Forest City RAGBRAI volunteers were put to work selling bags of ice to those in need. Jason Raimaker was one of those volunteers and he was kept very busy:
Bikers and campers would stop him for a bag or two of ice when they saw his cart go by. However, it was the vendors who brought in the most business and he had to keep his cart stocked just for those orders:
