Representative King Talks With KIOW: Part One-Healthcare (Audio)

It has been several years since the passage of the Affordable Health Care Act by Congress. Although only 8 million Americans have signed up, the latest figures are that 17% of Americans still do not have coverage in some form or other. While the White House has downplayed the lack of participation, there are others who criticize that the program gives the insurance companies far too much power.

Several doctors we have spoken with do not like the program because of the care stipulations imposed that frequently do not meet the patients needs.

KIOW’s News Director A. J. Taylor sat down with Congressman Steve King about this dilemma to see where Congress was with the program in this first of a three part series covering various topics that are important to northern Iowans.
