Forest City Baseball team advances to district final, plays Saturday night

The Forest City baseball team opened the 2A district tournament with a 5-1 win over Central Springs Tuesday night at home. In a game heard on KIOW, Jeff Andersen scattered 5 hits, striking out 8 Panthers. Tanner Thompson had 2 doubles, 3 RBI and 4 total hits, with Jordan True adding 3 hits. The Indians will take on Eagle Grove, an 10-2 upset winner over top-seeded West Fork, Saturday night in the district final in Forest City. The Lake Mills baseball team defeated North Iowa 15-0 in 4 innings. Josh Peters got the win on the mound, allowing just one hit in 4 innings of work.
