After a visit last week from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Hancock County Board of Supervisors met to discuss the outcome of the visit and evaluate the damage in Hancock County due to recent flooding. Hancock County Supervisor Jerry Tlach tells about the discussion.
According to Tlach, there is a road that recently washed out in Hancock County and some other damage that needs to be repaired with FEMA funding.
The Hancock County Board of Supervisors also met in adjourned session Monday with a busy agenda beginning with discussion of three vacancies to fill on the Board of Adjustment. Supervisor Tlach tells who they are looking for and what their duties would entail.
To be considered for the Board of Adjustments, you must reside in Hancock County and be able to come to meetings when called. Members of the Board of Adjustments receive mileage compensation. In other business: the Hancock County Board of Supervisors approved a bid to repair the sidewalks around the courthouse in Garner by the city streets. Tlach tells who got the winning bid.
The sidewalk repair project is expected to begin sometime in September.
