Forest City splits with Belmond-Klemme, area scores

The Forest City softball team fell to Belmond-Klemme 5-4 in North Iowa Conference action Thursday night. The Indians scored a run in the bottom of the 7th, but couldn’t complete the comeback. Amanda Gross led Forest City at the plate, with a triple and RBI. Liz Springer also had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Autumn Busta took the loss in the circle, scattering 8 hits and striking out 3. Forest City is now 9-21 overall, and finishes the regular season at Garner-Hayfield/Ventura tonight. Other softball scores:

The Forest City baseball team defeated Belmond-Klemme 13-3 in 6 innings in a North Iowa Conference baseball game heard on KIOW Thursday night. Jordan True led the offensive attack with a home run amongst his 3 hits, and added 3 RBI. Jeff Andersen added 2 hits and 2 RBI. Dan Happel got the win on the mound, striking out 8 and scattering 4 hits. Forest City is now 14-11 overall, and takes on Garner-Hayfield/Ventura tonight. Other Thursday baseball scores:
