Backyard Grilling Can Lead to Hazards (Audio)

The backyard grills will be out in force this weekend and along with it come certain hazards that people may not be aware of. Marianne Gravely of the USDA’s Meat and Poultry Hotline says some grillers make a simple, but dangerous mistake:

Gravely says that for the novice grillers, a meat thermometer is a necessity, but if anyone is uncertain what is the right internal cooked temperature, they should contact the USDA’s Meat and Poultry Hotline and ask.

Mixing dishes is one of the biggest mistakes that grillers make, but for those who are responsible for the cleanup afterwards, the second biggest mistake is to wait too long.
