Forest City girls softball on 3 game winning streak, Baseball falls to Lake Mills 8-6

The Forest City softball team is on a 3 game winning streak after picking up 3 wins at home Friday and Saturday. Friday, the Indians defeated Lake Mills in North Iowa Conference action 9-0. In a game heard on KIOW, Autumn Busta picked up the win in the circle, striking out 3, and scattering 3 hits. Busta also had 3 hits at the plate, with 2 RBI. Liz Springer added 3 RBI as well. Saturday, the Indians picked up a pair of wins in the Forest City classic. In the opening game, Forest City beat Belmond-Klemme 8-5 in 8 innings. Anna Anderson had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Autumn Busta picked up the win in the circle, striking out 2 and scattering 10 hits. The Indians also defeated Webster City 4-0 in a game that was shortened to 5 innings by lightning. Liz Springer had 2 RBI, and Callie McQuown had 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Forest City is now 7-20 overall, and travels to Garner tonight. Other Friday softball scores:

The Forest City baseball team fell to Lake Mills in North Iowa Conference action Friday night 8-6 in Forest City. The Indians led 6-5 going into the 7th, before the Bulldogs struck for 3 runs to take the lead. Forest City Jeff Andersen took the loss, allowing 7 runs in 6 innings of work, striking out 6.
