The Belmond-Klemme baseball team defeated Eagle Grove 7-3 Thursday night, as Josh Gavin picked up the win on the mound, striking out 5. Dustin Bruns and Colton Kuhlers each had 2 RBI. Other Thursday baseball scores:

The Belmond-Klemme softball team defeated Eagle Grove 5-4 in 9 innings in non-conference action Thursday night. The Broncos had 17 hits at the plate, with Keyra Cook, Hailey Barrus, Lindsey Mason and Mackenzie Tenold getting 3 apiece. Tenold also had 3 RBI. Other Thursday softball scores:

The Clear Lake boys soccer team moved to the Class 1A State Semifinals with a 2-1 win over MOC-Floyd Valley Thursday in Des Moines. The Lions came from behind on a penalty kick by senior Antonio DiMarco in the 69th minute after a MOC-Floyd Valley hand ball, then followed up 40 seconds later with a goal by Ernie Miszewski. The Lions take on 2nd seeded Iowa City Regina this afternoon in the semifinals.
