The Forest City baseball team fell to Estherville-Lincoln Central in non-conference action Friday night 9-4. In a game heard on KIOW, the Indians gave up 3 runs in the 5th and 6th innings. Ben Midtgaard led Forest City with a triple and single at the plate. Other Friday baseball scores:

The Lake Mills softball team defeated Belmond-Klemme 6-0 in the North Iowa Conference opener for both schools. Emily Orban tossed a 4 hitter, striking out 6 and walking 1. Sarah Orban and Brianna Smith each had 2 RBI for the Bulldogs. Other Friday softball scores:

The Bishop Garrigan boys golf team picked up the 1A team title Saturday by 20 strokes over runner-up Grundy Center. Jess Marlow led the Golden Bears with a two day total of 150, finishing in a 3-way tie for 3rd place. Wes Buntenbach of Belmond-Klemme finished in a 3 way tie for 6th place, as he carded a two day total of 152. The Clear Lake boys finished 4th in 3A, with a 641 team total. West Delaware won with a 622, Creston/Orient-Macksburg 634, and Webster City 3rd with 636. Dane Waldron led the Lions with a 5th place finish, shooting a 148 over two days.
