Waldorf College is hosting the 8th annual 3K3 Walk-Run-Wag event today at 5:30pm starting at the Hanson Fieldhouse Lobby.
The event was started by Kristi Leonard, Kristi Osheim, and Kristi Carlson as a Waldorf service tradition when all three women were Waldorf College staff.
Kristi Osheim explained to KIOW News about the fund raising event:
All proceeds from the event will go to the local Relay for Life chapter of the American Cancer Society. This years efforts will focus on skin cancer. Kathy Leonard’ mother was recently diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma and is under going treatment. Lisa Brozik, Osheim’s daughter who has also battled with basal cell carcinoma this past year, has been selected as the honorary starter of the event.
The 3K3 route includes three loops, each approximately three kilometers in length. A participant can either choose to run, walk, or wag the dog for one, two, or three of the loops.
Sign in will start at 5pm in the Hanson Fieldhouse Lobby. Registration will be taken right up to the start of the event.
