Branstad Appoints Garner Residents to Posts

Governor Terry Branstad appointed two Garner residents to two state boards. Gerald Edgar was reappointed to the Iowa Board of Podiatry and Prosthetics. The board evaluates the qualifications of applicants for licensure and grants licenses to those who qualify. The board also establishes regulations to ensure the integrity and competence of licensed podiatrists and prosthetists. They also investigate complaints about unprofessional behavior and conduct.

Beth Meyers was appointed to the Iowa Child Advocacy Board. The board is an independent board to provide for citizen involvement in child welfare issues. The Iowa Child advocacy Board establishes policies for the Court Appointed Advocacy Group and the Foster Care Review Boards as well as procedures.
